Proofsaledata.com ("Proofsale," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website and use our services.

By creating an account or using Proofsale, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account Information When you register, we collect: first name, last name, username, email address, zip code, and a hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.

Payment Information If you subscribe to Proofsale Pro, payment is processed securely by Stripe, Inc. We store only your Stripe customer ID. We never receive, store, or transmit your full credit card number, CVV, or bank account details.

Usage Data We collect information about how you use our platform including search queries, search frequency, features accessed, and session duration. This helps us enforce free tier limits and improve the service.

Device & Technical Data We may collect your IP address, browser type, operating system, and referring URLs when you access our platform. This data is used for security monitoring and analytics.

Communications If you contact us via email, we retain those communications to respond to your inquiry and improve our service.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

• To create and maintain your account • To authenticate you when you sign in • To process subscription payments and manage billing • To send transactional emails (account verification, password resets, billing notifications) • To send our monthly newsletter if you have not opted out • To enforce free tier search limits • To monitor for fraudulent or abusive activity • To improve and develop new features • To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. We do not use your personal data to serve targeted advertising.

4. Information Sharing & Disclosure

We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

Service Providers We share data with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our platform: Stripe (payments), Supabase (database), Resend (email delivery), and Vercel (hosting). These providers are bound by confidentiality agreements and may only use your data to provide services to us.

Legal Requirements We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or other governmental or legal request. We will attempt to notify you before disclosure unless prohibited by law.

Business Transfers If Proofsale is acquired, merged with, or sold to another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email of any such change and any choices you may have.

Protection of Rights We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.

We will never sell your personal information to data brokers or third-party advertisers.

5. Public Data We Display

The alcohol sales and industry data displayed on Proofsale is sourced exclusively from government public records databases, including:

• Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts (Mixed Beverage Gross Receipts) • Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division (Liquor Sales) • Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB Store Sales) • Federal Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB)

This data is legally public information. We aggregate, organize, and display it for convenience. We are not affiliated with any of these government agencies.

6. Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser localStorage (not cookies) to store your login session, search preferences, theme settings, and saved businesses. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you take an action that requires it.

We do not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or behavioral tracking technologies. We do not participate in cross-site tracking.

If you clear your browser data, your local preferences and session will be lost and you will need to sign in again.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, we will remove your personal information from our active systems within 30 days and from our backup systems within 90 days.

Search query logs are retained for up to 12 months for security and analytics purposes, after which they are permanently deleted or anonymized.

Payment records are retained as required by applicable law and our obligations with Stripe (typically 7 years for tax purposes).

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:

• Passwords are hashed using SHA-256 before storage — we cannot recover your plaintext password • All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption • Our database (Supabase) uses row-level security policies to restrict data access • Payment processing is handled by Stripe, which maintains PCI DSS Level 1 compliance • We conduct regular security reviews of our codebase and infrastructure

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

9. Children's Privacy

Proofsale is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at proofsaledata@gmail.com and we will promptly delete such information.

10. California Resident Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) provide you with specific rights regarding your personal information.
